Success In The Entertainment Business

Success in Entertainment

I want to talk to all of you who are trying to work your way into the entertainment industry as a performer. I want to ask you firstly what is your definition of success?

Let me tell you why this is so important. Because if you don't know what YOUR definition of success is, then YOU won't know when you have 'made it'. You also put yourself in the uncomfortable position of not knowing how to get there! How do you get from your home in Basildon, Essex, to Florida USA if you don't know where it is, what roads to take to the airport, what flight to catch and at what time? You wouldn't plan your journey so badly so don't plan your career so badly.

Secondly I want you to be totally honest about your talent, your artistry, your work rate, your commitment and your dedication to your goal success. Do you have the talent to become a million selling artist? It's no good saying I will grow along the way. Are you good enough now? Do you have the presence and the confidence of a million selling artist/band now??? If your 'honest' answer is not quite, then your next question should be 'How do I get the confidence and the presence?' With my coaching I use specific visualisation technique which enables you to 'take on' the confidence and the presence of any artist you admire. Techniques that can give you confidence instantly to deal with pre stage nerves. Options are out there!! Let me ask you this...

If you were a million selling band/artist, how would you walk, talk, think and act?

Before you read on, please re-read that question.

Close your eyes and really get clear on your answer...

Let me tell you this in return for your answer. You will not walk, talk, think and act like that because you are a million selling artist/band!

You will be a million selling artist because you walk, talk, think and act like one!

Think about your future and where you want it to go. Think about where you want to go. And finally 'Are you doing whatever it takes to deserve that success?

Now I know that the slightest mention of Geri Halliwell from the Spice Girls, and you will probably go onto tell me about her lack of talent as a singer, but what if I was to tell you that in order for her to achieve her success, she took regular singing lessons, dance classes, practised probably twice as much as others that were far more talented and that she would travel to London on next to no money and go to 5 or 6 auditions in one day! And this was something that she did on a regular basis, and when I say regular I mean every weekend for months on end until she got her 'Lucky' break. Did she deserve her success? In my eyes...

Yes she did!!

The ironic thing is that there was no luck in her break at all. Geri just did whatever it took.

How much are you Doing?

I wish you all the success in the future.

Jeff Lewis arrives at the Fox Reality Channel's 'Really Awards,' held at Avalon Hollywood on September 24, 2008, in Hollywood, California. (Barry King/WireImage)BusinessWeek Online - To the 1 million viewers of Bravo's reality show Flipping Out, Jeff Lewis is the acerbic, demanding, and sometimes petulant face of real estate speculation. In the program's first two seasons (already in reruns), Lewis turned a hefty profit buying and updating homes to sell in Los Angeles' toniest neighborhoods. At the start of the year he sold a 1,900-square-foot house to Lost star Dominic Monaghan for $1.6 million.

Guitar Hero - On Tour - Any Good?

Guitar Hero:On Tour is a fairly new game which recently reached our shelves and has had some pretty good feedback so far. What's it really like though?

Officially released on June 22, 2008, this game was of course made for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite and uses a four-fret grip that simulates the original guitar controller. Instead of the guitar controller, this little gem is played with a mini-fretboard called the Guitar Grip, for those who are not in the know. It goes without saying that this is a music video game based on the Guitar Hero series and is the first handheld version of the popular Guitar Hero music video games, and as said, uses a Guitar Grip peripheral attachment which comes with the box so as to recreate the console rhythm experience.

Guitar Hero: On Tour is something that few ever thought would make it to our shelves, but to be sure, it makes for an enjoyable experience, and captures the excellent gameplay of the rest of the series.

If you're a gamer who doesn't want to take the full Guitar Controller and your Nintendo Wii console wherever you go, this is the game for you, without a doubt.

All in all, this game is receiving some great feedback across the board and suits the handheld format wonderfully as it's such an exciting game - Guitar Hero on the move, played a bit differently, with more emphasis on picking than fretwork, but don't worry because fretwork is still a necessity.

Guitar Hero: On Tour will ultimately be a big surprise if you thought it wouldn't be up to scratch, as it works very well on the Nintendo DS and while the console versions are undoubtedly better, those who prefer portable gaming are getting a truly superb alternative with On Tour.

Rock and roll enjoyment on the go is what this game is all about and if you're a fan so far with previous games, you'll love this one.
