Information Technology Education

If you are seeking a decent income and a job with multifaceted appeal, then perhaps an information technology education might be in order. With the field of information technology (IT) expanding at an incredible pace, an information technology education could be your one-way ticket to professional success!

Information technology schools often present a comprehensive curriculum in administration, development, maintenance, and support of computer information systems. Additionally, students may opt to become qualified in specialty systems such as Cisco and Microsoft, whereby students are given in-depth instruction in how to design, install and maintain computer networking systems. Other information technology training may involve intranet communications and connections, microcomputer applications and installations, network administration, computer repair, and general maintenance of computer systems.

An information technology education may lead to several certifications including A+, CCNA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or Network+. Depending on level of experience, education and specific field of expertise, those who have successfully completed their information technology education can qualify for employment as Computer Support Specialists, Data Communications Analysts, Network Support Technicians, Network/Systems Engineers, PC Technicians, Systems/Network Administrators, or Wireless Network Technicians.

Wall Street capped another difficult week with steep losses Friday, sending the major indexes to their lowest levels in more than five years as markets around the world skidded lower on the belief that a punishing economic recession is at hand. (AP Photo/Richard Drew)AP - If ever a 300-point loss on Wall Street could be a good thing, it was Friday. Wall Street started the day with a nervous eye on how far stocks would have to fall before triggering emergency trading halts. They ended the session relieved, even though the Dow Jones industrial average closed down 312, or 3.6 percent, its lowest finish since the financial crisis began six weeks ago.

3 Ways to Customize Your Nintendo Wii Fit & Give it Character!

Wouldn't it be great to customize your Nintendo Wii Fit, the way you would your mobile phone? Install a unique theme, give it a brand new look and let it shine with character? The fact is, if you're willing to spend some time brainstorming how you want your Nintendo Wii Fit to look, customizing it isn't as difficult or expensive as you thought. Here are 3 ways you can do that :

(1) Spruce Up Your Balance Board With A Designer Silicon Cover

Yes, one of the easiest ways to give your Nintendo Wii Fit a refreshing look is to clad your balance board with a designer silicon cover. In an instance, you can transform your plain looking balance board into a patriotic national flag, part of a leopard's body or simply a free styled manifestation of your artistic expression. Not only does the silicon cover add an air of sophistication to your Wii Fit, it also protects the balance board from your perspiration and dirt. The non slip nature of the silicon material also prevents accidents.

In case you're wondering, nope, such silicon covers aren't expensive at all. Due to the popularity of the Nintendo Wii Fit, the supply of silicon covers have readily increased and helped to slash retail prices. You can easily get a nice functional cover sometimes for as low as $1 on eBay!

(2) Top It Up With A Great Wii Skin or Case

If having a designer styled silicon cover is not enough for you, take this a step further by dolling up your Wii console & remote control with customised skins. There are some pretty ingenius ideas on such and one of the most hilarious I've seen is the Kentucky Fried Chicken ("KFC") theme. Apparently, someone was creative enough to design the remote control custom skin in the form of a fried chicken drumstick, with the KFC logo proudly displayed on the Wii console! Although it was just a photoshopped picture, well, who knows if that would really turn out to be a best seller?

(3) Customise Your Mii Avatar

Miis are the little avatars that you create on the Wii to be used in various games and configurations. Mii, pronounced as "me" are in essence your graphical representation in the Wii world. They look like Manga versions of the characters in the comic "Peanuts" and can be modified using a series of system features to create a broad range of variation. To add some spice into your Wii Fit experience, you might want to try changing your Mii Avatar to something that represents your true personality! And if you're game for it, there are some premium services offered on the Internet to create custom made Mii avatars for the price of a cup of Starbucks coffee! Well, that's not too high a price to pay for a unique expression of your individuality, isn't it?

Nintendo Wii Video Game Rating System

Since Nintendo makes video games for people of all ages, not all of them are appropriate across the board. Parents need to be careful about what video games they expose their children to. Some people won't let their young child play a certain game but they allow them to watch others playing it. That isn't a concept that makes too much sense.

For many parents who don't play the games too often though they may not realize what is on them. While many of them are fun they can contain graphic materials that you may not want your children exposed to. Some parents are afraid that playing certain games can lead to criminal behaviors and aggression. This is a fear that the media has put into parents though due to playing video games being used as a defense when children do commit various types of crimes in our society.

In order to make sure parents know exactly what their children are playing, they have accepted the universal game rating system. This is on the box for every game as well as on the instructions and even on the label to the game itself. Should your children be trying to get you to buy them a certain game you can even look online to see what rating it has before you commit to doing so.

The Nintendo Wii rating that people are the most familiar with is the E for everyone. This means that regardless of your age or maturity level you will enjoy playing that particular game. Generally though it does mean that the game is able to be played by children at least six years of age.

For the younger consumers there are ratings of EC. This means Early Childhood so realistically children three years of age and older can play them. It is very likely that those about six years of age will find them to be boring and too simple. Still, if you have small children who want to be part of the Nintendo Wii buzz in your home it is nice to offer some games that they can play on their own.

You won't find too many games out there for the Wii that are rated A for adults only. The rating of M for mature is very common though. According to this rating system that generally means for those over 17 years of age. Parents have the room to make this decision though. They may feel that their child who is only 14 is mature enough to play certain games. That is a decision for the parents to evaluate on a game by game basis though.

There is a T rating which is for Teens from about 13 to 17 though. You will find Nintendo markets many games in this age group due to the demographics of their consumers. You can be comfortable letting your children play these games as they aren't full of violence but have plenty of action and graphics to keep them happy.

Occasionally you may see a rating of RP which means Rating Pending. Generally though Nintendo is very good about getting a rating on their games before releasing them. The company as a whole is very family oriented so they don't want to be involved in any controversial issues. However, parents need to carefully evaluate video games that are RP before they decide if their children can play them or not.

With the Nintendo Wii games you can put a lock on your gaming console. This means to be able to play certain games a code has to be given. So even if you have games in your home that you have told your kids not to play they can't do so even if they are tempted. It is important to realize though that if you are using backwards compatible games from the Nintendo DS or the GameCube that these codes won't keep them out.

Learn Chess

Chess is a classic strategy game for two players, and is based entirely around skill, with no luck involved. There is one exception, which is in the initial choice of which player gets the black or white pieces - this is often done at random - but even this element of chance can be removed by the playing a series of games with both players starting as black and white an equal number of times.

Chess is known to be an ancient game, but its exact origins are shrouded in the ancient past and thus somewhat uncertain. Many countries have laid claim to having invented the game, but it is probably fair to say that the majority of historians would probably attribute the creation of chess to ancient Persia (modern day Iran).

The game of chess is based around each player taking turns moving one of their pieces (each player begins the game with 16 pieces) around a board containing a 8 X 8 grid of squares. Each player has several different types of pieces (Pawns, Rooks, Knights, Bishops, Queen and King), and each of the different types of pieces have different movement capabilities. The objective of the game is to "checkmate" the opponent's King, that is to say to threaten the opponent's King with capture in the next turn in such a way that no responsive move could prevent the capture of the King.

The challenge (and complexity) of the game arises from not only planning how to use your own pieces in concert several moves ahead of time, but also in anticipating your opponent's likely moves in the upcoming turns.

The Importance of a Well Designed Backpack Computer Case

Computers are now extremely flexible pieces of equipment that are smaller and lighter than ever. Capable of going almost anywhere you go, laptop computers can now also connect to the Internet at any of the numerous Internet cafes in most cities and airports. Being able to take your computer with you is the main reason to have a laptop, but you need to make sure that you have a computer case that is functional, protective and sturdy.

The most important consideration when choosing a computer case is how well the case suits the type of computer you own. Some types of laptop computers are extremely small and light, which would cause them to slide around inside a larger computer case. Conversely, a heavier computer will require a carrying case with sturdy straps that are wide enough to distribute the weight comfortably.

For trips when you will be carrying your computer for a long time or when you'll need your hands free, you might want to consider a backpack computer case. Like any computer case, a backpack computer carrying case should be the right size for your computer and provide enough cushioning to prevent damage if the computer is bumped or jostled. There should also be some degree of water resistance to protect your computer and other electronic components from rain or spilled beverages.

The right backpack will have a good fit so that the computer doesn't shift its weight or bump while you're walking. The weight should be distributed so that it doesn't cause any strain on your neck and back, and you should be able to remove the backpack without a struggle.

If you are accustomed to carrying a computer case in your hand or over your shoulder, you may find that a backpack causes fewer problems and will be less likely to induce muscle strains. The uneven distribution of weight caused by carrying a computer on one side of your body can cause muscle tension and posture problems over time.

To get the best results from a computer backpack, make sure that the weight of the computer remains centered on your back when you move around and check to make sure that you can put the backpack on and take it off without too much exertion.

While investigating your options for a computer case backpack, you may find certain features that make some designs more appropriate for your use. For example, if you'll be using your backpack computer case to transport your computer between home and work or between various worksites, you may want a case that has multiple flaps and pockets so that it can double as a briefcase or personal organizer.

Any items that you won't need while you're in transit can be stored in the backpack computer case, including papers, CD-ROMs, flash drives and power cords. You might want to select a backpack that has a special pocket for a cell phone but, before buying a case with this feature, be sure that you're able to reach the pocket easily while wearing the backpack so that you're not forced to remove the backpack every time your phone rings.
