Best NES Games of All-Time

The NES system from Nintendo was one of the most popular gaming systems of its day. Players looked forward to the release of every new game as developers worked to beat their last success. Most gamers can't see NES cartridges without remembering the video games that shaped their youth. What were some of the classic video games of the NES.

The Super Mario Brothers video games are one of the most popular and best selling franchises of all time. Most gamers can remember the first time they put in the cartridge and played the original Super Mario Brothers. The graphics were something we had never seen before. The following two sequels were just as popular as the first, with incredible graphics and a great story line that kept everyone involved.

Another of the most popular video games ever for the NES was Mike Tyson's Punch Out. This incredible video game offered unbeatable boxing action. While it may not compare to today's most popular boxing and fighting games, for all of us who experienced the action of rising through the ranks and winning the heavyweight title, this game will always live in our hears.

NES also made huge advances in sports video games. One of the most popular ever was the Tecmo Bowl. This game was one of the first that allowed players to put a little more strategy into their game play. When you put the cartridge in your NES system for a duel among friends, the action was unstoppable.

For those interested in strategy games, The Legend of Zelda is one of the most important additions in the history of video games. This incredible franchise was one of the hottest selling video games for the NES console, and is still around in one way or another. Gamers will never forget passing from level to level. You could walk the hallways of your elementary school and hear kids debating different strategies for the Legend of Zelda.

Even as video games become more advanced and realistic, we will always hold a special place in our hearts for the NES. Just one look at a vintage cartridge makes us all want to return to our youth and play these video games for the first time. The NES is one of the greatest additions to the gaming world ever.
